Dinosaur Exhibit At Carnegie Finally Opens November 19, 2007, 2:44 pm | Pittsburgh Life On November 21st, 2007 at Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Dinosaurs in Their Time finally opened to the public who were fortunate enough to take part in the exhibit's opening day. The Carnegie Museums "Our Building the Future" campaign, announced in November 2006, their $150 million campaign "that will ensure a bright future for the four Carnegie Museums." It is a fantastic exhibit that I will highly recommend to anyone who has an interest. Even though the lines were long with families waiting for their scheduled time to view, it would be worth twice the wait. Unlike the Chihuly exhibit at the Phipps Conservatory, the lines and the people at Carnegie made the event more special. At Phipps, it didn't seem right to be elbow to elbow with people. To me, Phipps is more a spiritual visit. Long lines there take something away. It was nice to see the throngs of familes walking from the Carnegie entrance to the exhibit in the Natural History wing. So those of you who remember the old exhibit where you had the dinosaurs inside a rectangular room, and that very strange fish at the left-read of the room, you MUST see it now.
